What we do

We work to protect, support and empower groups of people who are often invisible in society. Our projects are led by expert frontline staff whose mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable people.

Help for Men

Every man has a right to feel safe.

Domestic abuse is about power and control of one person over another, and it can happen to anyone. Our Dyn Project provides support to heterosexual, gay, bisexual and trans men who are experiencing abuse from a partner.

We provide confidential support and help for men affected by domestic abuse to find the best available services in their local area. This includes safety planning, signposting to services across Wales, advice and emotional support

Are you at risk?

Has your partner ever:

  • Tried to control you?

  • Intimidated you?

  • Shouted at you?

  • Threatened to hurt or kill you?

  • Withheld money from you?

  • Threatened to take your children away?

  • Called you offensive or insulting names?

  • Tried to control your movements?

  • Stopped you from contacting family or friends?

If you have faced any of this kind of treatment from your partner, you may be experiencing a form of domestic abuse.

IN AN EMERGENCY DON’T DELAY – DIAL 999

We work with vulnerable young people to improve their access to services and provide them with a safer future.

Safer Wales Inclusive Service (SWIS) is a project for young females aged between 12 and 16 years old. SWIS provides one-to-one and group work focused on encouraging positive lifestyle choices.

The activities are structured within the term timetable and include; healthy eating, minimising stress, healthy relationships, child sexual exploitation and sexual health. These sessions are facilitated by Safer Wales staff and volunteer mentors.

We run services specifically for women involved or potentially involved with the criminal justice system, including those in HMP Eastwood Park (returning to Wales and South West  England), and HMP Styal (returning to Wales), through the delivery of the resettlement service for Working Links and Wales CRC, Dorset Devon and Cornwall CRC and Bristol, Gloucester, Somerset and Wiltshire CRC, since May 1 2015.

Call us on 029 2022 0033.

Please note our offices are staffed Monday–Friday 9am–5pm.

Anyone can be a victim of sexual exploitation, but some people are more vulnerable and at risk than others. We work to protect victims of sexual exploitation from danger and help them to lead safer lives.

We also run the Integrated Offender Management (IOM) Cymru Women’s Diversionary Pathway based at Merthyr Tydfil Police Station allowing those who qualify to be diverted out of the criminal justice system and receive appropriate support.

This project is funded by the Gwent Police and Crime Commissioner.

Our volunteers and project workers help those affected by sex work through mentoring, advocacy and access to services. We are the only organisation in Cardiff providing evening outreach services and case management support.
